Pharmaceutical Particle-Counting Reticles

A counting field and size references support microscopic examination of particulate matter. The physical size represented by the marks depends on calibration.

Configuration and materials

Specify optical glass or fused silica, overall dimensions, thickness, pattern-side orientation and the clear aperture. Define transmission, reflectance or optical density at the working wavelength when optical contrast is critical.

  • Active field, scale or feature geometry and optical-plane location
  • Material, outside dimensions, thickness and mounting datums
  • Working instrument, illumination and viewing side
  • Critical tolerances, inspection intervals and reporting needs

Reading and sampling methods

A visual reference for a specified method

Particle references support microscopic sizing and counting within a defined inspection procedure. Pattern layout, observation magnification and reporting thresholds need to match that procedure.

Choose the pattern for the counting method

The reference does not validate the assay

The reticle supplies comparison geometry. Sampling, preparation, blank control and counting rules establish the assay result; a pattern name alone does not demonstrate compliance with a pharmacopoeial method.

Choose by function

What it is and what it does

A counting field and size references support microscopic examination of particulate matter. The physical size represented by the marks depends on calibration.

When to choose it

Define the current method, field diameter and particle-size thresholds. A graticule is an optical aid and does not by itself qualify a pharmaceutical test system.

How it differs from related products

Sizing circles and reference features support visual comparison. A counting grid only partitions an area. Particle appearance also depends on focus, illumination and the measurement definition, such as projected diameter rather than physical volume.

What can be customised

Line geometry, graduations, labels, field diameter, substrate thickness and mounting outline can be matched to the instrument. Contrast and line density should allow the reference and the specimen to remain visible together.

What you receive

A patterned glass reference component with the selected graduations, outline and mounting dimensions, accompanied by the specified inspection records.

Selection notes

Pharmaceutical particle reticles provide size, counting or field references for a specified microscopic assessment.

Match the reference dimensions and field rules to the selected procedure. The pattern name alone does not establish method compliance.

Information for your inquiry

Method, reference sizes, counting layout, microscope configuration, mounting and calibration requirements.

How do these differ from general particle reticles?

The relevant difference is whether reference dimensions and observation rules match the specified method; a similar-looking pattern is not sufficient.
