Assembly verification
Place alignment, scale and resolution regions on one plate for repeated checks at defined positions.
Combined imaging targets bring several reference geometries onto one substrate for multi-step focus, alignment, scale and image-quality workflows. Each region has its own measurement purpose.

A multi-feature target combines selected bars, dots, edges, apertures or alignment marks on one part. It reduces target changes when an inspection station performs several checks in sequence. The visible reference patterns must still be matched to the software and illumination used for each check.
Start with a list of measurement outputs, then assign one region and acceptance method to each. A clear circular feature may be an optical aperture or a geometric reference; a patterned film opening is not necessarily a hole drilled through the glass.
Place alignment, scale and resolution regions on one plate for repeated checks at defined positions.
Each region needs its own reading rule. The combined target does not turn a geometric grid into an MTF feature.
| Choice | Selection basis |
|---|---|
| Test functions | Choose the required checks first, then the matching bars, edges, grids or registration marks. |
| Shared coordinate system | Define the relationship between regions and the mounting datum. |
| Field and illumination | Keep each functional region resolvable under the intended optics and lighting. |

Dimensions to drawing
Multiple shapes and alignment references on one substrate.

64 mm plate
Unequal circular features and fiducials; not a regular dot array.

Custom layout to drawing
Circular features, crosshairs and a scale share one field. Define coordinates and the function of each region in the approved drawing.
Combine scale, alignment and detail checks in one fixture.
Inspect each functional region against its own dimensions and defects, then verify registration between regions and the substrate datum. Identify any report values as nominal or measured.
A combined patterned glass target is supplied with identified functional regions and their shared reference system. Inspection covers each region’s geometry and their relative positions.
Multi-feature targets combine several reference patterns on one substrate for imaging inspection.
Assign each region a task: resolution, scale, alignment, distortion or contrast. Keep coordinates and analysis settings linked to the correct region.
Pattern list, region coordinates, frequency or pitch, active area, polarity and substrate.
Each pattern needs the corresponding capture and analysis method. Combining regions does not make their measurements interchangeable.
